Garden & Landscape Development

Lawn & Turf Development

Dense, level, green lawns — built from the soil up.

Fresh green turf rolls being laid in staggered pattern on a levelled campus lawn, MGP gardeners working with a roller.

What this service is

In plain terms.

A lawn is the largest single surface in most gardens, and the one that fails most visibly. Patchy, yellowing or waterlogged lawns are almost never a grass problem; they are a subgrade, soil or water problem. Lawn development is the engineered preparation of a growing bed — cleared, levelled, drained and filled with the right soil mix — followed by the correct grass for the site's sun, traffic and water: Mexican, Korean, Bermuda (Doob) or Paspalum, laid as ready turf, sprigs or seed.

Scope of work

What a standard engagement includes. Anything outside this is quoted separately and agreed in writing before it is executed.

Site clearance, weed eradication and debris removal
Subgrade levelling and slope formation for surface drainage
Sub-surface drainage for low-lying or clay-heavy areas
Soil mix preparation — red soil, sand, compost and cocopeat
Grass selection — Mexican, Korean, Bermuda / Doob, Paspalum and hybrid varieties
Ready-turf laying, sprigging or seeding
Rolling, top-dressing and initial fertilisation
Sports and play-area lawns built for heavy foot traffic

Enquire about this service

An engineer who works on this specific service will call you back.

We use your details only to respond to this enquiry. We never sell or share them.

How we execute it

From enquiry to handover.

Six defined stages. You always know which one you are in and what closes it.

01

Assessment

Sun hours, foot traffic, soil condition and water supply decide the grass variety and the build-up — not a default choice.

02

Clearance & weed kill

Existing weeds and roots are removed completely. A lawn laid over live weeds is re-laid within a year.

03

Levelling & drainage

The subgrade is laser-levelled to a gentle fall so water leaves the lawn instead of standing on it.

04

Soil bed

A consistent growing bed of the right depth and mix is spread, compacted lightly and pre-watered.

05

Turfing

Turf rolls or sprigs are laid in staggered joints, rolled for root contact and top-dressed.

06

Establishment

Daily watering schedule, first mow at the correct height, feeding and a handover once roots have knitted.

Before you commit

Questions buyers actually ask.

Answered directly, including where the honest answer is a qualification rather than a yes.

Mexican grass is hardy and low-cost for large areas; Korean grass gives a dense carpet look for ornamental lawns; Bermuda / Doob handles heavy foot traffic and sports use; Paspalum tolerates poorer water quality. We recommend after checking your sunlight, traffic and water — not the other way round.
