Canal & Drainage Works
Moving water where it should go, before it moves your assets.

What this service is
In plain terms.
Drainage is the removal of surface and subsurface water from an area — and its absence is the single most common cause of infrastructure failure. Water that stands destroys roads, undermines foundations, erodes embankments and floods floors. We build canals and lined channels that carry water for irrigation, navigation and supply, and storm water and subsurface drainage systems that take water away from where it does damage.
Scope of work
What a standard engagement includes. Anything outside this is quoted separately and agreed in writing before it is executed.
How we execute it
From enquiry to handover.
Six defined stages. You always know which one you are in and what closes it.
Hydraulic review
Catchment, expected flow and gradient are checked against the proposed section — an undersized drain is a wasted drain.
Survey & setting out
Alignment, invert levels and gradient are set out and recorded before excavation begins.
Excavation
Cutting to profile with shoring where depth requires it, and controlled disposal of excavated material.
Lining & structures
Concrete or masonry lining, chambers, gratings and outfall structures cast to level.
Testing
Flow and gradient verified; blockages, ponding points and reverse falls corrected before handover.
Handover
As-built invert levels, section drawings and photographic records.

Before you commit
Questions buyers actually ask.
Answered directly, including where the honest answer is a qualification rather than a yes.
Yes. Desilting, re-lining and section correction of existing drains and canals is a substantial part of this work, and it is usually the faster route to solving a flooding problem.
